"When we first started, it was just Dan and I doing everything. We had only four flavors. One of them was called Lemon Drop. It was a lot like our Ginger Snapdragons, but everything lemon. We hand-zested, like, 25 lemons per batch, which resulted in some nasty scrapes. And we boiled our own candied lemon peel to smash in the top.
"It was just too many steps for a real production process. After years of testing, I finally found a lemon oil that meets all of our stringent requirements, and tastes as fresh as the zest.
